Chili Recipe
I don’t know about you, but at soon and the temperature starts to drop, I am instantly in the mood for a big bowl of chili! This staple meal has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. It’s hearty, with a nice mix of beans and ground beef, plus all those flavorful toppings like sour cream, Mexican cheese, and green onions. Perfect for a cozy family meal, and I never can resist a second helping!
Ingredients:
-
1 lb ground beef
-
1 chopped onion
-
2 bell peppers chopped
-
1 garlic clove minced
-
4- 15 ounce cans tomato puree
-
1- 15 ounce can diced tomatoesÂ
-
2 cups of water
-
2 cans tri colored beans (drained and rinsed)
-
1 can black beans (drained and rinsed)
-
2-3 Tbls chili powder to taste (the more the spicier!)
-
Sour cream
-
Mexican cheese
-
Green onions
Instructions:
- In a large soup pot, heat over medium-high. Add the chopped onion and bell peppers. Cook for 3-5 minutes until they begin to soften.
- Stir in the ground beef and minced garlic. Cook until the beef is browned and fully cooked through, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Pour in the tomato puree, diced tomatoes, tri-colored beans, and black beans.
- Slowly add the water, stirring as you go, until the chili reaches a slightly thinned but still chunky consistency.
- Stir in the chili powder. Bring the chili to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer for 45-60 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once cooked, serve the chili hot. Top each bowl with sour cream, Mexican cheese, and chopped green onions.
This chili is perfect for cozy family dinners, game nights, or any time you need a little comfort in a bowl. Warning: seconds are highly likely!
